July 30th, 2008:   A Ho Chi Minh City based company is now offering GIANT bicycles in Vietnam.  After months of negotiation, Golden Rose Trading and Travel, the South Saigon based sports equipment distributor has secured the right to sell the industry leading Giant bicycle brand in Vietnam.

Director Rod Skeggs of GRT says, "This is a huge leap forward for our young company.  We now have the ability to deliver the entire range of GIANT bikes to our growing Vietnam customer base with complete back up and support from the industry leader." Skeggs also noted that the 2009 range of Giant bikes will be available for customers in Vietnam by September of 2008.  GRT has announced that they have also secured deals with Selle Italia and ITM accessories to be authorized agents in Vietnam.  Within less than one year GRT has positioned itself to be the premier provider of high end cycling equipment and accessories in Vietnam. Asked about the keys to his success Director Rod Skeggs explains,” Our key people have years of experience in the fields of physical fitness and the sport of cycling. The market in Vietnam has advanced to the stage where the products and services that we provide are very much in demand (and) that demand is growing at an exponential rate."   Certainly this sentiment is reaffirmed as you drive through the rapidly developing South Saigon neighborhood in which GRT is located.  Signs of the maturing Vietnam market include a new Porsche distributorship, a thriving golf culture, a soon to be completed conference center and several other high end retailers in new department store complexes. All of these developments come at a time when fuel prices are skyrocketing and cycling remains both an economical and environmentally friendly mode of transportation. All indications are that GRT has a clear road for future growth.
